Selin Kaynak graduated from Koç High School’s science-focused IB program in 2010 and went through the college application process. In 2014, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BS in Business Administration (Concentration in Entrepreneurship), with minors in Digital Media and New Technologies, and Communication and the Entertainment Industry. She later completed her College Counseling certification at the University of Los Angeles.
With a desire to make a difference in the field of international education counseling in Turkey and a belief that there should be a better support system for students and parents during the college preparation and application process, Selin Kaynak, together with Gamze Kaynak, founded Kaynak College Counseling in 2016. She personally experienced how challenging the college preparation and application process can be without proper guidance and targeted direction. As a result, she became a passionate international education counselor and established a detailed and enjoyable support system that she had envisioned for her own application process.
She believes that high school years should not be stressful due to college applications. Instead, it should be an exciting and enjoyable period in which students get to know themselves, explore career paths, and build a strong and balanced academic and non-academic foundation. Selin Kaynak ensures that her students go through a detailed and enjoyable “major discovery process,” which motivates and excites them about their future. She has established a system that allows each student to build the strongest possible foundation aligned with their talents and interests, making them competitive candidates for the most suitable universities. Working closely with her students, she aims to create strong foundations and applications by approaching all aspects of the process mindfully. In collaboration with Gamze Kaynak, she ensures that her students receive acceptances from universities where they will genuinely be happy.
Selin Kaynak not only guides her students through every step of the college preparation and application process but also helps them start their university journey with skills, awareness, and motivation that will assist them in university and beyond.
